What is Islamic wedding?
When the father or the guardian of the bride offers to give
her in marriage to the bridegroom and when he accepts the offer in the presence
of witnesses, the marriage is solemnised. The prescription of Islam is that the
bridegroom ought to give the bride ‘mahr’ (dower) on the occasion of the
wedding and that the consent of the bride should be sought beforehand.
